Always On, Never at the Wrong Time
Branco runs on a schedule, not on someone’s calendar. Once your team is set up, every prompt fires automatically:
- Working hours only: each prompt respects the recipient’s country and timezone, so no one gets a feedback ping at 3am.
- Holiday-aware: country-specific holiday calendar, so we skip the day off.
- Built-in cadence: peer feedback bi-weekly, probation check-ins biweekly, self-reflection on schedule. No one has to remember to send anything.
- Friendly nudge: if a teammate misses a prompt, Branco re-pings them once a day until they reply or the cycle moves on.
The only manual touchpoints are eNPS surveys (HR launches a round when they want one) and the Test Feedback loop button on the Integrations page, for when you want to fire a prompt at yourself to see how it works.
How to Configure the App
- Sign up at https://app.branco.ai/sign-up with your work email.
- The onboarding wizard walks you through your company structure: function, role, and career step. This is what feedback questions are tailored to.
- Inside the wizard, click Enable Branco to connect your Slack workspace and approve the requested permissions.
- Add your team members, manually or via the BambooHR sync.
- From the Branco dashboard, open Integrations (IT admin only) → Slack and click Test Feedback loop to fire a test prompt to your own Slack DM.
- Once at least two teammates are added, the first automatic feedback loop typically starts within 24 hours, during working hours and never on holidays.

What Triggers Messages in Slack
Branco only messages you in the Messages tab, as a direct message from the bot. It does not post in public or private channels and does not respond to @mentions in channels. The triggers are:
- Bi-weekly peer feedback cycles.
- Biweekly probation check-ins during a new hire’s onboarding window.
- eNPS surveys when HR launches a round, delivered as one-question DMs with one-tap rating buttons.
- Probation reviews between manager and direct report, with a link to the dashboard.
- Self-reflection prompts aligned to personal development plans.
How the Bot Responds in DMs
Inside the DM thread with Branco:
- Peer feedback: a short back-and-forth in your own words. Our AI scores the quality of your replies and keeps the conversation going until it has what it needs.
- Probation check-ins and eNPS surveys: tap-to-answer buttons. The bot replies with a receipt so you can scroll back and see what you answered. Probation check-ins wrap up with a quick plain-text comment.
- Probation reviews: the bot drops a link to the Branco dashboard, where you and your manager continue the conversation.
- Anything else you DM Branco: a short note that says it is not a general-purpose chatbot.
AI Use Notice
Branco.ai uses generative AI (Google Vertex AI) to draft feedback questions, score the quality of responses, and suggest personal growth actions. AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate. Always read AI suggestions with care, and rely on human judgement when making people decisions.
How to Disconnect
You can disconnect Branco from your Slack workspace at any time, in two ways:
- From the Branco dashboard, open Integrations → Slack and click Disconnect Slack. Branco will revoke its own access token and remove the connection.
- From your Slack workspace settings, open Apps → Branco.ai and remove the app. Branco cleans up the connection on its side automatically.
